GABRIELE VEES
Sample Text
The work entitled "ZWIESEL" is an approx. 138 cm high wooden sculpture. It shows a vertical pine tree trunk that has been stripped of bark and forks in the middle. In the two individual trunks, the annual rings were gradually worked out and taper towards the top. Between them, the bark forms a dark curved band. As a result of the processing, a stone came to light in the dichotomy . The last annual rings form a funnel-shaped envelope around the two individual trunks. The work was initially driven by the guiding principle of getting to the bottom of the individual growth of the tree. After felling, it was already apparent that a drastic event had caused the tree trunk to split over time. What might have caused this conflict? Could the point in time be determined and the position made visible?
