The works of "THE HARD CORE" show cross-sections of heart rotten trees. Core rot is caused by a parasitic fungal attack. What remains are the skeletal branches in the trunk, as they are more durable than the heartwood due to their denser cellular structure. The works show snapshots of the decomposition process. Outwardly intact, however, the interior may harbor a different truth. Appearances can often deceive us and not convey the whole truth according to the motto "Outside hui - inside ugh!"
