The lines in the wood are the growth rings. A new ring is formed every year. If you count them, you can determine the age of the trees. But not only the age but also the growth and life of trees can be reconstructed. After the attempt to demarcate and differentiate individual growth rings proved possible, subsequent works with their graded conical shapes were created.
